Birmingham, AL – Republican candidate Katherine Robertson expanded the growing wave of law enforcement support for her campaign today, earning the endorsement of Crenshaw County Sheriff Terry Mears. The endorsement marks the 12th Sheriff and 14th law enforcement leader statewide to back Robertson in the race.
“I am proud to endorse Katherine Robertson for Attorney General,” said Sheriff Mears. “She is the right person for the job and has had all the training she needs to be successful. Smaller counties like ours need to send people to Montgomery that will look out for us—I know that Katherine will. I’m ready to help her win.”
Sheriff Mears’ endorsement adds to a rapidly growing coalition of support that already includes Sheriffs in eleven other counties, two Chiefs of Police, current Alabama Attorney General Steve Marshall, the Alabama Farmers Federation (ALFA), the Petroleum and Convenience Marketers of Alabama (P&CMA), and the Republican Attorneys General Association.
“Katherine Robertson has earned the trust of the brave men and women who protect our state,” Campaign Manager Annabel Martinson commented. “From sheriffs and police chiefs to farmers and business leaders, Alabamians know Katherine is the tough, tested, and proven fighter they want in Montgomery who will always put the people of Alabama first.”
Robertson said she is honored to have Sheriff Mears’ support and the confidence of so many in law enforcement.
“Sheriff Mears represents the kind of courage and commitment that defines Alabama law enforcement,” said Robertson. “Our sheriffs put their lives on the line for their communities every day. As Attorney General, I’ll have their backs — and together, we’ll stand up for Alabama values and keep our state safe.”
