Citing her commitment to the region and her understanding of the issues it faces, Coastal 150 — the “Political Voice of Coastal Alabama” — announced on Wednesday night its endorsement of Republican Katherine Robertson as Alabama attorney general.
“Katherine demonstrated a clear understanding of the issues that matter most to Coastal Alabama and the role our region plays in driving Alabama’s economy,” Coastal 15 Board of Directors Chairman George Talbot said. “We are proud to support leaders like Katherine who recognize both the statewide importance of these offices and the need to ensure Coastal Alabama continues to grow and compete at the highest level.”
Formed in 2017 to broaden the influence and reach of Coastal Alabama and to ensure its priorities are advanced at home, in Montgomery, and around the state, the group is comprised of business leaders, community leaders, and other influencers from throughout the area.
In addition to campaign support from the group’s grassroots network throughout Alabama’s Gulf Coast region, the endorsement is accompanied by financial support from its political action committee, Coastal PAC.
Robertson said she appreciates the support from community leaders who are willing to place their names alongside hers, and she will use her role as attorney general to help protect and defend the region while also creating more opportunity for the residents who live there.
“Coastal Alabama is the state’s fastest growing area in terms of its population, its economy, and its influence, and growth at that staggering pace brings its own set of issues and challenges,” Robertson said. “As attorney general, I will be a strong partner for all of the communities and industries across our Gulf Coast and will do my part to ensure that government stays in its lane and supports, rather than hinders, growth and innovation.”
