The NRA Political Victory Fund, which operates as the political action committee of the National Rifle Association, announced this week its endorsement of Republican Katherine Robertson for Alabama attorney general.
Founded in 1871, the NRA is the nation’s largest, best-known, and most politically-active advocacy group defending Second Amendment gun rights for citizens across the United States.
“Just like the NRA, I fully embrace the Second Amendment gun rights guarantees awarded to us by the Bill of Rights, and I understand that the best solution to bad guys with guns is even more good guys with guns,” Robertson said. “Legal and responsible gun owners in every corner of Alabama will know that they have a friend and ally in the Attorney General’s Office when I am elected.”
The most recent available data ranks Alabama among the top 10 states in the nation for gun ownership with roughly 56% of households possessing a firearm.
During Robertson’s ten-year stint as chief counsel in the Attorney General’s Office, she has overseen enforcement of Alabama’s firearms law — Ala. Code 13A-11-61.3 — which assists citizens in resolving disputes with cities and towns that attempt to unlawfully regulate firearms.
Under Robertson’s leadership, Alabama also successfully challenged numerous attempts by the Biden-Harris Administration to weaken the Second Amendment rights of all Americans.
